The manuscript applies the two-stage hierarchical non-full rank linear econometric model to make an analysis of key Norwegian export items across world’s continents. The manuscript finds that Europe is the most important trade partner (81.5%). Moreover, a structural shift from North and Central America to Asia and Oceania suggests increased importance of the Asia and Oceania continent (85% export increase from 1988 to 2012).
