I’ve worked at The Continuing Education of Mental Health
Care at Molde University College since Aug.1st 2015.
I graduated Alesund University College in 2005 with a Bachelor’s
degree of Nursing. I then worked as a nurse and as a milieu therapist for a few
years before I went to Molde University College to study Mental Health Care as
a part of my Master’s degree.
In my master’s thesis, «The way to a more
common life? A qualitative study about people with mental illness living in
supported houses”, I interviewed residents in supported houses. The research question of the master’s thesis was how the
residents experienced their situation, what experiences did they have receiving
help and how did their life change after moving to the supported house. The
findings of the study were discussed against empowerment and stigma/self stigma.
I have work experience from nursing homes, Intensive Care
Unit, mental health care in the community, working with drug addicts in the
community and working in supported homes for people with mental illness.
