About Molde
Access to online databases from external connections
There are different ways to access the library databases:

  • Remote desktop.  Access remote desktop from Start - Programs (Programmer) - Accessories (Tilbehør)- Remote Desktop Connection (Tilkobling til eksternt skrivebord), to connect with tryte.himold.no.   Use your usual username/password and domain STUD. ( HIMOLDE for employees)

  • Employees can use VPN from CISCO

  • WebVPN - The gateway to the library databases
Students: Enter username by using your student number and then enter your usual password.
Employees: Use domain\username, for example: himolde\nordmann - and then your usual password. You are now logged on "WebVPNServices", and you click The library's databases to get access to our databases. This gateway gives access to most of our databases. When you are finished remember to log out by clicking on the X in the upper right corner. To change database you click at  "Home" and choose "Bibliotekets databaser fra utsiden" again. This way to access is unstable, choose Remote desktop instead.

  • Athens is a system for controlled access to some of our databases.
In Athens all users have to be registered in the database and get their personal username and
password. You will get this from the library. Athens gives access to databases from OVID, ProQuest, ScienceDirect and Ebrary.

  • For some databases you need passwords. These you can find it in Fronter :   Choose room:  "HiM Student info", then "Arkiv", and then  "Passord til digitale ressurser / Passwords to some of the library's digital resources" .
