About Molde

Purpose

Høgskolen i Molde (HiM) will assign each student a Key Card that can be used to enter the buildings at Kvam after normal opening hours. After showing proof of registration, all fulltime students will receive a card that is a combination Student ID and entrance card. A fulltime student is one that has been accepted for a course of study at HIM and has paid the semester fees.

1. Key card

The Key Card is strictly for your personal use and should not be shared with others. If the card is lost, the college should be notified immediately.

2. Pin-code

The pin-code must be used along with the Key Card in order to open the door. The pin-code should be memorized and never be written down. Keeping the pin-code along with the Key Card is a violation of use.

3. Entrance to rooms

After normal opening hours students can enter study/reading rooms, common areas, group rooms and computer rooms. Students may not enter rooms that are designated for employees (staff) use only.
Entrance to the building can be limited during holidays, vacation time, or for other reasons.
The college reserves the right at anytime to change student access.

4. Access to the building and use of the Key Card

To enter Buildings B and A after normal working hours an electronic entrance card can be used. Electronic card readers are found at all entrances to Building B. To enter Building A the entrance card readers can be found on the south side (towards the sea) and on the north side of the building.

How to use the Key Card:
· Pull the card through the card reader
· Use keypad to enter your PIN code
· Pull the door to open
If this is done correctly the door will open. After a few seconds the door will lock again. If the procedure is not done correctly, the door will not open. Repeat the entire operation to try again.

5. Student responsibilities
Permission to use the buildings after normal hours is available only to HiM students. Therefore, students should always have their student ID with them.
When using the Key Card to enter the buildings, be sure that others entering with you are also HiM students. If uncertain, ask to see the persons student ID. Also be certain that the door is securely closed behind you. While in the building you must behave in such a way that you do not damage college property or disturb other students and staff.

6. Infraction of these guidelines

Violation of these guidelines can result in the cancellation of your Key Card privileges. If the entrance card is misused, the student will be held responsible for the cost of any damages that may have occurred. Consistent misuse of the entrance card privileges may result in the cancellation of these privileges for all students.

7. Record of use
Each time the Key Card is used, the following information is recorded electronically.
- Time
- Place
- User ID
This information will be kept for 3 months. This information will be managed in accordance with Datatilsynets Standardvilkår for bruk av adgangskontrollsystem av 16 September 1994
