Molde University College - Specialized University in Logistics (HiMolde) is the most central higher educational institution in Norway offering education within Logistics at BSc, MSc and PhD level.
Logistics deals with the organization of the flow of products, services and information from raw materials to the end user, and is therefore built on a broad spectrum of disciplines, such as economics, information/ communication technology, business administration, organization and management, besides quantitative techniques based on mathematics, operations research and statistics.
HiMolde offers a 2 years international MSc program in Logistics open for both Norwegian students, international students with Individual Funding who are able to document funding of minimum NOK 90 800 per academic year, and a limited number of students under the Quota Scheme recruited from and attached to our collaboration institutions in Africa, Asia and Russia. The language of instruction is English.
There are two specializations within the MSc program in Logistics. 1. Industrial Logistics: emphasize the planning of production, transportation, inventory and distribution, and the quantitative and professional tools used.
2. Supply Chain Management - aims at giving the students knowledge and understanding of strategic and managerial processes within firms, and emphasize the problems and solutions associated with the management of logistics activities and inter-organisational issues, like industrial organisation, purchasing and supply management.
Graduates from the MSc program in Logistics fulfil the academic requirements to later apply for admission to the 3 years PhD program in Logistics at HiMolde or other relevant PhD programs abroad. Application deadline
1 February 2012: Applicants with international education applying directly from abroad or who are having a temporary residence permit in Norway.
15 April 2012: Applicants with Norwegian education, who are either Norwegian citizens or have a permanent residence permit in Norway. 1 April 2012: Latest postal date for submitting documentation to meet the English language requirements (TOEFL/ IELTS tests). Relevant only for applicants who are required to meet the formal English requirement, and who are not formally exempted from this requirement. Please notice that our Specialized University does not accept or handle applications for admission received after the application deadlines have expired. The MSc program in Logistics is only offered for new students starting in mid August (the autumn semester) every year. There is no admission for students who want to start the programme in the spring semester. |
