New Rules at HiMolde - with immediate actions

Please observe the new rules for students and staff concerning lectures, examination, travelling, activities on campus in Molde and Kristiansund etc. (Updated 12 March at 20:30)

Teaching, examination and practice

  • For the time being, campus teaching is canceled for all students at Molde University College, both in Molde and Kristiansund
  • Students should not come to campus. But employees are allowed (but should preferably work at home if they can).
  • Main entrance doors will be locked, but employees can open with key cards.
  • As soon as practicable, the teaching will be conducted online until a new message is given. Information about the online offer will be provided on Canvas. Students must therefore log on to Canvas and keep track of information posted there by the subject teacher.
  • Further information about alternative forms of exam will be given later. Stay tuned to Canvas.
  • Practice goes as usual until another message is given. Follow the messages you receive at the practice site. Otherwise, see the rules for nursing and social care students further down.

Employees who have questions about how to conduct their teaching in the future will contact their immediate manager. The IT Center prepares guidance material for digital teaching, and assists as needed as far as they have capacity.

Students in nursing and social care studies

For time being Nursing and Social Care students shall no longer have practice. New decision will be taken 20 March.

The health authorities are constantly updating their advice for the health care services. The same rules apply to nursing students and social care students in practice as other health care professionals at your practice site. Great care must be taken. You must not attend a health institution if you are ill, have been in close contact with someone who is confirmed to be infected with coronavirus or have been in an area of ​​widespread infection (https://www.fhi.no/nettpub/coronavirus/fakta / areas-of-persistent-spread-of-corona virus-corona virus/ ). If you have any doubts, please contact the study leader or practice supervisor.

Presence on campus

The campuses in Molde and Kristiansund is closed for students and guests.

The offer at the library will be closed and IT centre may be limited in the future. More information on the library's website and the IT centre’s website.

The university college follows the recommendation of the National Institute of Public Health regarding home work. Therefore, to the extent possible, the use of home office and flexible working hours is encouraged to reduce employee density. This must be agreed with the nearest manager. See advice from the Institute of Public Health. 

Employees and students should pay particular attention to fever, cough and other respiratory symptoms. If you are sick with these symptoms, you should be home. When you recover, you, as an employee, you should contact your immediate leader to ask if your presence at campus is needed. It may be appropriate to have a home office instead of returning to work, even after a regular illness.

As a student, you may contact the study leader at your study program to ask about how you should relate.

Employees in risk groups can, as far as possible, have a customized work situation in consultation with the leader.

If possible - bring home computer equipment

All students and staff are asked to bring a laptop home so that it is possible for everyone to participate in teaching or be able to work from home should a situation arise that requires this. Also bring your headset if you have one.

Planning meetings, events and social gatherings

As of today, meetings (including, excursions,  seminars and conferences) and activities beyond what is a business-critical activity shall not be held. Scheduled meetings should, as a rule, be organized av Skype meetings or cancelled, if they are not business critical.

Traveling in connection with work or study

Business trips will not be carried out from March 12 and until a new message is given. This applies both domestically and abroad. All research stays that are planned in the future will be cancelled / postponed.

No students will start their exchange stay from about March 12 and until a new message is given.

External guest researchers/guest lecturers will not come to HiMolde until a new message is given.

Traveling in leisure

We strongly urge that private travel should be avoided as far as possible. This applies to both students and staff. This is to avoid further spread of viruses.

If you have been abroad, in areas with widespread infection (https://www.fhi.no/nettpub/coronavirus/fakta/omrader-med- sustained- spreading-of-coronavirus-coronavirus/ ), you should have quarantine in 14 days. Staff and students must not travel to these areas.

In addition, for nursing students and their teachers / supervisors, the following applies: If you are traveling abroad now, you cannot go into practice until you have been home for 14 days after returning home. These 14 days will be regarded as invalid absence if departure takes place as of March 12, and may therefore have consequences for the course of study.
