  The status of Lonchaeidae in Norway is reviewed and a Norwegian checklist is provided for the first time listing 40 species in six genera. Whenever possible the records for each species provide details of region code, municipality, locality (grid code after the EIS-system, decimal degrees) number of individuals, sex, date, collecting method, collector and depository. Information is also provided on wider European distribution, and where known, larval habitat. A new species within the genus Lonchaea Fallén, 1820 namely Lonchaea norvegica sp. n. is described and its relationship with related species is discussed.   The known distributions in Norway and Sweden for all Scandinavian species of Leiomyza Macquart, 1935 are updated. The first national records are reported for Leiomyza scatophagina (Fallén, 1823) from Norway (Innlandet and Møre og Romsdal) and for Leiomyza birkheadi Gibbs, 2007 from Sweden (Öland and Östergötland). After revision of museum specimens, L. laevigata (Meigen, 1830) is now known only from Skåne in Sweden.   The picture-winged fly Homalocephala bimaculata (Wahlberg, 1838) is reported from Norway for the first time bringing to five the number of species of Homalocephala Zetterstedt, 1838 reported from the country. H. bimaculata is recorded from Hvaler, Viken, and Oslo, Oslo, and, based on numerous and scattered records, the species is considered to be under-recorded due to its secretive lifestyle. The species is regarded as native and, based on the many ovipositioning females observed, reproducing successfully. A reproducing pair (in copula) was found in Hvaler municipality in Viken county in June 2018.   The lance fly Earomyia lonchaeoides (Zetterstedt, 1848) is reported from Norway representing the first time that not only this species but also this genus has been recorded from the country.   The plant bug Megalocoleus tanaceti (Fallén, 1807) (Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Miridae) is reported new to Norway. It has probably colonised the county Østfold from Sweden. Since the species is morphologically similar to two other Miridae living on the host plant Tanacetum vulgare L., a short identification key is presented to separate M. tanaceti from M. molliculus (Fallén, 1807) and Oncotylus punctipes Reuter, 1875.   This paper present two species of Typhlocybinae (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae) new to Norway, Zonocyba bifasciata (Boheman, 1852) and Zyginella pulchra Löw, 1885. Both species are reported from plant importers and from established populations in Norway. We argue that both species have been introduced into Norway as hitchhikers on garden plants, but that we cannot rule out the possibility of a simultaneously range expansion into Norway from Sweden.
