Background
I am a political scientist with an interest in disciplinary and interdisciplinary themes. I have studied global approaches to hegemony, social exclusion, governance and post-foundational political thought. Much of my work has been focused on caste and legal change in India’s constitutional democracy and international human rights politics, and I have been particularly interested in the history of Dalit movements, articulations and the social and political thought of Bhimrao Ambedkar. My first book deals with dynamics of caste and law in India and is published with Cambridge University Press (2020).
Before coming to Molde University College, I had various positions in research and teaching. I was postdoctoral fellow at Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS), Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. I taught Intercultural Studies at NLA University College and Academic Writing at University of Bergen. I have been affiliated with School of Oriental and African Studies and Essex University in research and visiting positions. I obtained my PhD at the University of Bergen.
