Tuition Fees for students who are citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland

Students who are citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay full tuition fees if they do not fall within one of the exemption categories formally decided by the Norwegian government. You can read more about the exemption categories and how to apply for an exemption here: Exemptions from paying tuition fees.

The yearly tuition fee for the academic year 2026/2027 will be NOK 58 650, starting from 1 August 2026. This is a significant reduction from the current level of NOK 170 500, and includes both new students and current students

The new rates follow a proposed legal amendment that allows universities to set lower fees.

Molde University College is publishing the new rates now, ahead of the legal change, to provide predictability for students.

Admitted students must pay the tuition fee within the last deadline mentioned in the admission letter.

Just so you know, information beyond the current academic year must be considered tentative.

Student stories

Alexander Korlath, Austria, Student from 2021-2023

"The sport management master programme in Molde taught me the latest event organization practices, presentation skills, finding creative solutions, and being adaptive to daily challenges in a vibrant and fast-paced working environment.

Furthermore, I gained much knowledge by getting insights into the unique Norwegian sports system. Today, I work 60% as a project coordinator for sport for all events at Swiss-Ski (Swiss Skiing Federation) and 40% as a Personal Trainer at Tatkraft Creative Training in Berne, Switzerland.

Both jobs are an exciting mix of planning diverse summer events to promote winter sports to youth and children and, on the other side, as a coach working intensively 1 to 1 with people and together reaching their specific goals."

Alexander Korlath, Austria, Student from 2021-2023

"I am working at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). I applied for the job in May before graduation and was thrilled to get accepted. I work as a development coordinator and assist in developing projects in several skiing and snowboard disciplines.  Additionally, I provide administrative support for non-Olympic disciplines such as Telemark, Speedski, and Grasski.

My job is very versatile, and I learn new things every day. My master's degree in sports management from HiMolde taught me valuable skills such as presentation, organization, and innovative thinking. I am grateful for my experience studying in Molde, which prepared me for a career in the field of sports."

Alexandra Blum, Switzerland, Student from 2021-2023

I did my internship in Lillestrøm SK (Norwegian elite-level football club). After completing my studies, I was offered a part-time position at the club. A few months after that, I was "lent out" to the Lillestrøm elite level women's team, LSK Kvinner, where I was offered a permanent job the following month.

I have been working for LSK Kvinner for four years now. I have a dual role consisting of tasks related to social media and marketing/sales, as well as some event planning. The football industry is very broad and unique, and the subjects taught in the sport management master's programme are very useful when working with a wide range of tasks.

Jonas Otto Jensen, Norway, Student from 2018-2020

I am currently a PhD student at Innland Norway University of Applied Sciences. The sport management master programme in Molde gave me practical and theoretical knowledge within sports management and laid the foundation for a career in academia. Thanks to the program, my passion for event management has grown even stronger.
