Windows
The client included with Windows is used for the connection. There is no need to install a separate app.
- Go to the website https://rds.himolde.no
- Log in to the website with a username in the form username@himolde.no
- Select the desired profile to download the profile. Select "Desktop 2019" if you don't know which profile to use.
- Click the downloaded file to launch Remote Desktop.
- If you are asked if you trust the connection, press the "Connect" button. If necessary, check the box next to "Don't ask me again for remote connections from this publisher" to avoid this question the next time you log in.
- Check that the correct username is listed under the password field. If the username is incorrect, select "More choices" and change to the correct username before entering the password.
- Click OK to connect.
Mac OS
Download the Windows App (formerly Remote Desktop) from the App Store for remote login to campus infrastructure.
- Search for "Windows App" in the App Store
- Click the "Get" button
- Go to the website https://rds.himolde.no
- Log in to the website with a username in the form username@himolde.no
- Select the desired profile to download the profile. Select "Desktop 2019" if you don't know which profile to use.
- Click the downloaded file to launch Windows App.
- Log in again with your username and password. You will now be logged into the "Remote Desktop" environment.
- If you are asked about a certificate, press the "Continue" button.
Chromebook
Download the app from Google Play for remote login to campus infrastructure.
- Search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop" in Google Play
- Choose the app and click install
- Go to the website https://rds.himolde.no
- Log in to the website with a username in the form username@himolde.no
- Select the desired profile to download the profile. Select "Desktop 2019" if you don't know which profile to use.
- Click the downloaded file to launch Remote Desktop.
- Click "Open with..."
- Choose "Change default..."
- Click "RD Client".
- Start the downloaded file
- Click "Accept"
- Click "Connect"
- Log in again with your username and password. You will now be logged into the "Remote Desktop" environment.
