Knowledge of medication use and adverse reactions is essential for safeguarding patient safety. It is also important for developing medication management systems that protect patients, enhance competence and quality in patient care and nursing, and reduce unnecessary medication-related harm, in line with World Health Organisation (WHO) objectives.

The research group focuses on patients’ medication use, the recording and follow-up of adverse reactions, and the development and implementation of systems that strengthen safety. The ADRe Profile (The Adverse Drug Reaction Profile) is one such tool.

We are working to translate the ADRe Profile from English into Norwegian, to validate it, and to further develop it for use in Norwegian health services. In addition, we aim to develop a Norwegian digital prototype to implement the ADRe Profile in routine practice. The ADRe Profile is intended to provide the basis for targeted nursing interventions and for interdisciplinary collaboration concerning the patient’s health status.
