Interacting with computers through keyboards and monitors has already been surpassed by taps and swipes on smartphones, which will give way to a world where every action is potentially an interaction with technologies responding to or monitoring our behaviour—with or without our knowledge.
Coupled with research-producing interfaces such as pads for dogs to express themselves and vehicles for plants to drive towards light sources, we are entering a new realm where an ever-broader array of biological organisms are becoming agents or data sources for ambient digital technologies.
We are a highly transdisciplinary and international team, and we run the Organic Digital INteraction Laboratories (ODIN Labs), where experiments are conducted in the underlying basic sciences as well as in the applied technologies that can and will impact our world in both good and bad ways.
