SCM120 Principles in Value Chain Management (Autumn 2023)

About the course

This course introduces value chain management and its role in a business. Through interactive lectures and the business simulation game Fresh Connection, you will learn the basic concepts and principles of value chain management in a fun and engaging way. You will learn how companies create goods and services, and the required flow of materials, information, and funds.

By managing their value chains effectively, companies can reduce costs, shorten delivery times, improve product quality, and increase customer satisfaction. In the business simulation game, course participants will work together in teams to improve the performance of a virtual company. Through a series of challenges, the teams will apply the concepts and principles covered in the course and receive immediate feedback on their performance.

Whether you are on your way to building a career in logistics and supply chain management or you just want to have an overview of this field, SCM120 will provide you with the relevant foundational knowledge and skills. The course will also offer a solid foundation for further studies in purchasing management, production planning and warehouse management, which are core subjects within logistics and supply chain management.
