  • International value chains and international transports with different forms of transport
  • Documentation, standard trading conditions, obligations, liability, and insurance in international transport

Recommended requirements

The students should have passed introductory courses in business and economics. Some knowledge of basic logistics is an advantage

The student's learning outcomes after completing the course

Knowledge

  • Understand the main forces for international trade
  • Know the features of international trading patterns and the transport modes associated with these patterns
  • Know the standard conditions in trading contracts and how these affect the distribution of responsibilities in international transports
  • Know the basic environmental effects of different transport modes

Skills

  • Be able to apply the theory of trade to explain the global pattern of trade
  • Be able to set up a comparative environmental analysis of means of transport
  • Search for and find relevant academic literature related to a problem of your own

General competence

  • Academic writing, including the formulation of a problem statement
  • Ability to critical thinking
