The master thesis is an independent, extensive work done under the guidance of an advisor within the discipline. The thesis can be written individually or by two students together. Candidates are relatively free to choose topic for their thesis, but it needs to be approved by the study coordinator. A thesis can be either applied, related to a company or an agency/governmental body, or it can be in the form of a theoretical investigation.
Some general guidelines for the thesis can be found on https://www.himolde.no/english/studies/programmes/master-programmes-in-logistics/guidelines-masters-thesis.pdf
The work on the Master's thesis may be a continuation of LOG904-101 Research Design and LOG904-100 Proposal. The purpose of these courses is to provide students with a step-by-step approach that culminates in a completed Master's thesis. This means that reusing one's own material from Research Design to Proposal and throughout the Master's thesis is permitted and does not constitute self-plagiarism.
