Logistics involves organizing and managing the flow of products, services, and information from raw materials to the end user. For many industrial and service companies, high-performing logistics operations are a key competitive factor and an important driver of future success. As a result, logistics has strong and growing relevance in the business world. Because these competencies are needed across industries and organizations, the job market for graduates with a master’s degree in logistics is generally strong.
Understanding how products, financial resources, and related information flow through supply chains, and how these flows can be coordinated efficiently and sustainably, is essential for most organizations. This programme therefore equips students with analytical and managerial capabilities to design, plan, and improve logistics and supply chain systems, including purchasing and supply management, production and inventory planning, distribution, and transport management. A key focus is also on understanding how different actors and processes are connected across value chains (supply chain management).
Logistics problem-solving requires a broad understanding of the field and the ability to evaluate alternatives to arrive at well-founded solutions. As a result, logistics is an interdisciplinary discipline that builds on areas such as economics, information and communication technology (ICT), business administration, organization and management, and quantitative methods including mathematics, operations research, and statistics. This combination makes studying logistics at this level both exciting and challenging.
The two-year (120 ECTS) international master’s programme in Logistics consists of 90 ECTS of coursework and a 30 ECTS master’s thesis. The programme is taught entirely in English and includes students from both within and outside Europe. This creates a truly international learning environment in which students benefit from working in diverse teams and strengthening their academic and professional English. As a result, graduates are well prepared for logistics and supply chain careers in an increasingly globalized economy.
