IDR950 Master`s Degree Thesis (Spring 2019–Autumn 2019)

About the course

A thesis is an independent, extensive work that is done under the guidance of a supervisor/ professor in the discipline. Not more than two students can work on the same thesis.
Candidates are relatively free to choose topics, but as a norm they should be affiliated with a sport club or association or another organisation working with sport and do their thesis within this context. A thesis can also be applied, related to a company/club or an agency/governmental body. In exceptional cases it can be a theoretical investigation/ approach.

Recommended requirements

ADM710 (or ADM712) and IDR802
Only those students who are enrolled in the MSc programme in Sport Management can write a thesis. In addition, each candidate must have an approved proposal that has been prepared related to the course IDR710 Research Methods.

The student's learning outcomes after completing the course

The most important objective is to achieve training in independent project work with a strong professional basis.Students should employ methods and knowledge that has been learned in their courses, and show that they can use these in the explanation and solution of problems in sport management.

Forms of teaching and learning

Supervision according to agreement. The master's thesis is an independent work done by a single student or two students together.

Two writing seminars are set up during the semester.
