Guidance for a photo on a student certificate and access card

Portrait photo

• Use a white wall as a background, or another neutral background
• Ensure good lighting of your face
• Look directly into the camera with open eyes
• Include your entire face, preferably with some air around
• Headgear, sunglasses and other things that hide the face should not be used
• There are exceptions for religious headgear, but the entire face should be visible
• Avoid filters from apps and the like

How to add a photo to the student ID?

• Go to the Self-Service Portal
• Select Change image
• Click Choose image to select the image you want to upload
• Click the Upload button

Is the image used for something else?

• The image is used for the Student ID mobile app (sikt.no)
• The image is transferred to the study administration system FS and Fagpersonweb.
  • Administrative staff at the Student Office have access to FS
  • Teachers have access to see information about students enrolled in their courses
