Change in the rules for testing and quarantine

The government has changed the rules for testing and quarantine from Wednesday 26 January. We briefly explain the most important changes below.

These are the rules:

The 10-day infection quarantine can be replaced with:

  • daily testing for 5 days after the last close contact with the infected person for household members and corresponding close contacts
  • if you are unable to keep a distance from the infected person during the isolation period, you can replace the quarantine with daily testing for 11 days (6 days during the infected person's isolation period + 5 days after this)
  • If you have had covid-19 for the past three months, you do not need to be quarantined.

No quarantine of infection for other close contacts

The quarantine period for close contacts who do not live with the infected person or are similarly close to the infected person was lifted on 13 January. People are recommended to be tested 3 and 5 days after close contact, and good symptom observation for 10 days is recommended. In case of symptoms, you should stay at home and get tested.

How to get rapid self tests

  • Students and staff with symptoms or who are close contacts can pick up antigen tests (and PCR tests) at the self-test station at Reknes in Molde, seven days a week. The self-test station is open every day between 16.30 and 20.30, and on weekends between 10.30 and 15.30. You do not need to book an appointment.
  • We still have a number of self-tests / quick tests available in Student Service in Molde We are in dialogue with the host municipalities about access to more tests for distribution.
  • A face mask must be used when showing up for delivery. If you are already in quarantine, you can not pick up a quick test yourself but get others to pick it up for you.
  • If you have symptoms of Covid-19 infection, you must show up at the municipalities' test station to be tested.

Registration of positive self-tests

Anyone who has three vaccine doses does not need to take a PCR test after a positive home test, but Molde municipality asks everyone who tests positive to register on the municipality's registration form https://molde.kommune.no/skjema/skjema/MOL186/
