Updated about the corona situation - New mesures

The government has introduced several national and regional measures to delay the spread of the omicron variant of the coronavirus. The measures take effect from midnight onwards. Universities and colleges must comply with the requirements for infection control-sound operations that are laid down in the covid-19 regulations.

The emergency response team at HiMolde has met earlier today and looked at what measures must be introduced for students and staff at our two campuses in Molde and Kristiansund, regarding the national and regional measures. In the first instance, the measures apply for 4 weeks, with a new assessment after 2 weeks.

One meter is reintroduced and requirements for face masks

The rule keeping a minimum distance of one meter to others applies again. Where this is not possible, a face mask should be used. This also applies to classrooms, exam rooms, canteens and other places where students and staff stay.

Measures:

  • Face masks and hand disinfectants will be placed in central locations on both campuses
  • The maximum number of people in the serving zone in the canteen will be 10
  • Registration of visitors in the canteen is reintroduced
  • Face masks should be used in the canteen until you have found a place to sit and that the distance to the nearest is at least one meter
  • The gym is closed for all activities until further notice, as there is a requirement for a distance of two meters.

Exam

Most exams at HiMolde are already home exams and will therefore not be affected by the new rules. The remaining written school exams, all in nursing, will be held on 13, 14, 15 and 20 December. According to the government, these can be carried out as planned, if infection control is taken care of. Detailed information about completing the exams will be available in Canvas and StudentWeb.

Instruction

There is still some planned campus teaching left. See the timetable and Canvas for what applies to the individual subjects and cohorts.

Planned events will be cancelled in the next 4 weeks

Rules have been reintroduced for how many people can participate in various events, whether they are private or public, whether there are permanent allocated places or not. The remaining and planned events for staff and students, with the exception of exams and skills training, will therefore be cancelled.
