LOG904-166 Supply Chain Visibility with RFID and IoT technologies (Autumn 2021)

About the course

Course content (abstract):

“Information as a substitute for inventories” was stated by Dudley & Lasserre already in 1989 when they found a correlation between the amount of information and the inventory level needed for a certain service level. Since then RFID and IoT technologies have increased the amount of information tremendously. Getting and utilizing information are key to improve supply chain performance. This seminar introduce RFID and IoT technologies, provides an overview of RFID and IoT applications in logistics, and presents models for how to realize enhanced performance by using RFID and IoT.

Topics covered:

RFID and IoT technologies. Performance enhancement. The three Vs of logistics performance. Little’s law. Object identification and standardization.
