Source Evaluation

Source evaluation involves examining the quality of the information you have found, such as a book or a journal article. Sources found on the internet should be critically evaluated.

To evaluate a source the following sources should be asked:
  • Who is the author?
  • Written for whom?
  • Why is it written?
  • When is it written?
  • Who is the publisher?
  • Point of view/bias?
  • References to other sources?
