Norwegian Research Information Repository / Nasjonalt Vitenarkiv (NVA) is a open research archive for Molde University College among others, for publication of scientific works, including master theses. (The former systems Brage and Cristin systems was replaced by NVA from October 2025.)
The student has the copyright to the thesis (according to the Norwegian Copyright Act). Hand-in of assignments in Wiseflow (former Inspera) is mandatory, but publication in NVA is optional. In Wiseflow there is a publication agreement* which must be filled in.
Master theses published in NVA will be stored as open access with a permanent "Handle". The author can use this handle for citing and accessing the thesis, f. ex in a CV.
The library is responsible for the registration and publication of master theses in NVA, and follows these criteria:
- No theses will be published without the author's permission (consent)
- No theses will be published before final grading
- Grade requirements for master theses: Passed
- No information on grades, or comments, will be published
- The assignment can be removed from NVA on the author's request
*) NB! If you plan to write a research article later, based on your master thesis (maybe suggested by your supervisor?), the library recommends that you select "No to electronic publishing" in the publishing agreement in Wiseflow. If no article is published later, please contact the library and we can subsequently publish your master thesis electronically in the NVA.
Confidential assignments:
- Assignments containing identifiable person information cannot be published, and this must be marked in the publication agreement.
- Confidential assignments must have the necessary forms filled in: Standard agreement and the supplementary Confidentiality agreement.
All necessary information for handing in your assignment can be found in Student info in Canvas.
