Student stories

Alexander Korlath, Austria, Student from 2021-2023

"The sport management master programme in Molde taught me the latest event organization practices, presentation skills, finding creative solutions, and being adaptive to daily challenges in a vibrant and fast-paced working environment. Furthermore, I gained much knowledge by getting insights into the unique Norwegian sports system. Today, I work 60% as a project coordinator for sport for all events at Swiss-Ski (Swiss Skiing Federation) and 40% as a Personal Trainer at Tatkraft Creative Training in Berne, Switzerland. Both jobs are an exciting mix of planning diverse summer events to promote winter sports to youth and children and, on the other side, as a coach working intensively 1 to 1 with people and together reaching their specific goals."

Alexandra Blum, Switzerland, Student from 2021-2023

“I am working at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). I applied for the job in May before graduation and was thrilled to get accepted. I work as a development coordinator, and assist in carrying out development projects in several skiing and snowboard disciplines. Additionally, I provide administrative support for non-Olympic disciplines such as Telemark, Speedski, and Grasski. My job is very versatile, and I learn new things every day. My master's degree in sports management from HiMolde taught me valuable skills such as presentation, organization, and innovative thinking. I am grateful for my experience studying in Molde, which prepared me for a career in the field of sports .”

Jonas Otto Jensen, Norway, Student from 2018-2020

"I did my internship in Lillestrøm SK (Norwegian elite-level football club). After completing my studies, I was offered a part-time position at the club. A few months after that, I was "lent out" to the Lillestrøm elite level women's team, LSK Kvinner, where I was offered a permanent job the following month. I have been working for LSK Kvinner for four years now. I have a dual role consisting of tasks related to social media and marketing/sales, as well as some event planning. The football industry is very broad and unique, and the subjects taught in the sport management master's programme are very useful when working with a wide range of tasks."

- Dilara Valiyeva, Kazakhstan, Student from 2016-2018

"I am currently a PhD student at Innland Norway University of Applied Sciences. The sport management master programme in Molde gave me practical and theoretical knowledge within sports management and laid the foundation for a career in academia. Thanks to the program, my passion for event management has grown even stronger."
