Our research group works with the physiology of human performance in health and disease across the lifespan from childhood to old age.
Knowledge of human physiology is paramount to understanding human physical performance and pathology. It is also integral to advances in clinical care and health recommendations. The focus of our research group is basic mechanisms for central and peripheral limitations to oxygen supply and demand. Additionally we focus on adaptations in skeletal muscle and the nervous system with ageing and strength training. The goal of our research is translation of findings to relevant patient populations, as well as knowledge for a long healthy life.
